When completed, this installation will provide habitat for local wildlife at risk or in decline, while raising awareness of the biodiversity and habitat loss. Each habitat design is specific in colour, entrance size, and cavity size to its intended occupant, and is carefully arranged and oriented according to species-specific recommendations. By making habitat prominent, this project invites educational opportunities, connects the community with the rich habitat of the region, and explores the diverse biology that exists in the neighbourhood. It creates opportunities for discovery and rewards curiosity with a playful but resilient installation.
